If you’re planning to update to ProPresenter 7.20, take note: Renewed Vision has announced that v20 requires Blackmagic Desktop Video 14.3 or higher. This means that systems running on older Blackmagic hardware—specifically the DeckLink Duo cards limited to firmware 12.9—will not be compatible. If your setup includes one of these older cards, you’ll need to hold off on updating to v20 or look into upgrading your hardware to maintain compatibility.

In short: before clicking “update,” double-check your Blackmagic hardware version. This quick step will save you from unexpected downtime or functionality loss.

Here is the content for MAc users that have recently upgraded their MacOS:

Mac Users – Security Settings for Blackmagic Desktop Video

If you’ve updated your Mac to the latest OS, you’ll need to adjust your security settings to keep Blackmagic working correctly. Go to:

  • System Settings → General → Login Items & Extensions

    • Under Allow in Background, make sure Blackmagic Design Desktop Video (and Blackmagic Design Inc., if listed) is toggled on.

  • Scroll down to the Extensions section → Driver Extensions

    • Click the info icon and confirm that Blackmagic Design Desktop Video Extension is toggled on.

Without these permissions, Blackmagic Desktop Video won’t run properly — which means ProPresenter won’t recognize your Blackmagic hardware. A quick check here ensures everything keeps running smoothly.
